Questions
How exact is it?
The multipliers are exact: they use the same formula as WordPress.org's open-source search code. How well a plugin's text matches a search is estimated, so positions predicted after a change are estimates. The fit score tells you how close the estimate is for each search.
Why might the position differ from what I see on WordPress.org?
Search results change through the day as plugins update. Ours come from the live search when you look, cached for up to six hours. Localised directories (for example de.wordpress.org) can rank differently.
Does it work for themes?
Not yet. Theme search uses a different ranking, so the simulator covers plugins only.
How many lookups can I do?
Twenty new searches an hour without an account, sixty when signed in. Searches someone has looked up recently are free and instant.
